Built for catchers that want more

Coach Andrés Ugarte

I know how hard catching can be.

I built CATCHPRO ACADEMY to give catchers the clear coaching, plan, skills, and confidence I wanted every player behind the plate to have.

The coach behind the academy

Playing taught me what good catching takes. Coaching taught me that every player learns in a different way.

I played catcher in college and pro baseball, where every detail mattered. I had to receive pitches, control missed pitches, move my hands and feet together, talk with pitchers, control the running game, and stay calm when the game got hard.

Playing gave me experience, but coaching was a new skill. I have worked with youth, high school, college, and advanced catchers. I learned that two players can miss the same ball for different reasons. They need help that fits the cause, not one fix for everyone.

That is why I train skills, movement, strength, game awareness, leadership, and confidence together. I want players to know what they are doing, feel the change, and keep improving on their own.

The mission

“To give catchers clear coaching, a plan they understand, and the confidence to become well-rounded players and leaders behind the plate.”
  • Explain why each move works, not only what to do.
  • Fit training to each player’s age, body, skill level, and goals.
  • Practice each skill often and with a clear purpose.
  • Build skill, leadership, communication, and confidence.

Start with a clear plan

Clear coaching. Personal help. A plan that makes sense.
